How we get you ready to file, step by step

New York's process is tough — which is exactly why having it handled matters. Here's the whole path, and what we do at each point so you don't have to.

  1. Step 01
    We hear from you

    You reach out or take the two-minute eligibility check. No payment, no commitment — just a straight read on where you stand.

  2. Step 02
    We check where you stand

    We look at your age, where you live or work, and anything in your history that needs care. If something needs a closer look, we tell you now rather than later.

  3. Step 03
    You're on board

    You pick how much you want us to handle, and we open your case. From here, one team is tracking every requirement.

  4. Step 04
    We get your course booked

    Your 18-hour safety course is the longest-lead item, so it goes first. We help you find a state-certified instructor and get dates on the calendar.

  5. Step 05
    Your training is done

    Classroom hours, live fire, and the written test behind you. Your certificate has a clock on it, so we track the date to make sure it's still good when you file.

  6. Step 06
    We gather everything

    References, statements from everyone at home, your photos, your disclosures. We send the links, chase the people, and keep the whole list moving so you're not the one following up.

  7. Step 07
    We handle the notary runaround

    Your references and household statements have to be notarized. We line it up — most of it can be done online in about ten minutes each.

  8. Step 08
    We check it, you review it

    Every requirement gets checked for complete and correct, and the packet is assembled in the order the License Division reads it. Then you look it over.

  9. Step 09
    The application is filed

    On Self-Guided you file the application yourself; with Full Concierge we file it with the NYPD on your behalf. Our job is making sure that when it goes in, nothing is missing.

  10. Step 10
    Fingerprints and your interview

    You get fingerprinted and sit down with the License Division. We make sure what you filed and what you say line up.

  11. Step 11
    The NYPD reviews your case

    The background check and character review happen on the NYPD's schedule, not ours. Nobody can speed this up — but a complete file is the thing that keeps it moving.

  12. Step 12
    Your decision arrives

    The License Division decides. If anything comes back needing work, you're not on your own with it.

  13. Step 13
    You're licensed

    Your license is issued for a three-year term. We track your renewal from day one, so it never quietly lapses on you.

The Refile Promise

If we assemble your filing packet and the License Division returns it as incomplete, we reassemble it and you refile at no additional charge from us. Government fees are set by the City and the State; we do not control them and cannot refund them. This is a promise about our work — not about the outcome of your application. The NYPD retains full investigative discretion.
